Accessibility

Slip Report is built to be usable by as many readers as possible, including readers using a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, voice control or a magnifier.

Standard

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. That includes:

• Contrast. Every text and background colour pairing on this site is checked against WCAG’s contrast ratios; the working numbers are published in the site’s own design notes and re-checked whenever the palette changes.
• Keyboard access. Every link, form field and interactive control can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
• Structure. Pages use one heading level per page (a single H1), ordered headings beneath it, and landmark regions (header, navigation, main content, sidebar, footer) so assistive technology can jump between them.
• Motion. This site uses no animation. Where motion is ever added, it will respect your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.
• Images. Every illustration carries descriptive alt text and a visible label when it is an AI-generated illustration rather than a photograph.
• Reflow. Pages remain usable down to a 320px-wide viewport without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

This is a new site. If a page, a form or a component does not meet this standard, we want to know. Third-party embeds we do not control (if any are ever added) may not fully meet this standard, and we will say so on the page where they appear.
